Our meeting was called to order by Fletcher Wilson. The minutes from the November 30, 2016 meeting were read. Jan moved that we accept the minutes and Fletcher seconded. The motion carried.

January 4, 2017 CC meeting:
016-11 Vacant Business Buildings. CP Dan Lewis wants something done regarding vacant business buildings. The CC deferred this until the January 18 CC meeting. Then on January 18, it was once again deferred to February.

R16-140 Untested Rape Kits. They are 12,000 backlogged untested kits. CP Dan Lewis wants to give scholarships for people to go to school to learn how to test the kits. This was passed by the CC 9 - 0.

R16-139 Feasibility study for soccer stadium. The study will cost $15,000. They are looking at 12th and I40 and two other places to build the stadium. The $15,000 for the study was passed by the CC 7 - 2.

January 18, 2017 CC meeting:
When the ART project was going to start, the CC thought it would be a good idea to provide the business owners along the route with $10,000 to help them if they were struggling financially by the ART project. Come to find out this policy is illegal. Can't give the businesses any money.

Pat Davis has been talking about police procedures; about police shootings and that rape kits should be tested in 3 months after the rape. Some discussion followed.
